New City Maintenance in Mississauga, Ontario

The city maintains a comprehensive system of parks and trails, many with scenic views of Lake Ontario and Toronto’s skyline. There are also many public swimming pools, tennis courts and sports fields.

Mississauga is home to many professional and amateur sport teams. The most famous is the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association, who play at the Rogers Centre. The city is also a hockey hub with multiple teams in the Greater Toronto Hockey League and the Mississauga Hockey League, as well as the Mississauga Chargers of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League. There are also many baseball, soccer and cricket teams in the city.

Aside from sports, the city has a number of cultural attractions, including New City Maintenance Mississauga the Living Arts Centre, the Mississauga Civic Theatre and the Mississauga Library. The city is also a shopping destination, with the Square One Shopping Centre being the largest mall in Canada.

Downtown Mississauga is home to a diverse selection of shops, restaurants and cafés. Mississauga’s central business district is known as the Golden Mile and features a mix of traditional and modern buildings.

In addition, the city’s downtown core is served by a large bus station and streetcar network, which connect the downtown area to other areas of the city. The central business district is also home to the Mississauga City Hall and the Central Library.

The city’s infrastructure is managed by the City of Mississauga Infrastructure Management Services (CIMS). The CIMS is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the city’s roadways, bridges and tunnels, water and wastewater systems and transit system. The City also manages the city’s communications network, which provides Wireless Mississauga public WiFi, Internet services for municipal staff and connectivity for post secondary institutions.

In the fall and spring, City staff will work on seasonal maintenance projects to prepare for the busy summer season. This work includes litter cleanup, preparing plant beds for planting and removing winter debris from parks and greenspaces. City crews will also start sweeping streets and flushing hard surfaces to remove litter and prevent pollutants from entering the stormwater system and local waterways. It is important for residents to avoid raking grass clippings onto the road and to place yard waste into yard waste bags for collection by the Region of Peel.

Several railway lines run through the city, with GO Transit, operated by Metrolinx, serving the city via the Toronto-Sarnia Corridor. GO trains stop at Malton GO Station in the city’s northeast and provide access to the rest of the city and the wider GTA through connecting GO Train service to Toronto Union Station.
